OUR FIRM

A young firm focused in identifying research and development projects, under European Union calls in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Innovation, Energy, Entrepreneurship and Clustering, with practical applications for local and regional Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).

The scope of our activities is to bridge the gap between research and development enabling cross-border activities, regional cooperation and the transfer of knowledge.

ENIA Consultants is initiating and participating in projects primarily in the above fields or where the company can add value.

Since 2007 ENIA has developed a network of European associates and is involved in conceptualizing innovative project ideas influenced by relevant European trends and policies.

Geographical focus – Due to our geographical position we are more active in Southeast Europe and non-European Union member countries in the Mediterranean, aiming in cross-border transnational and inter-regional cooperation.
We additionally aim to address some of the specific issues of our region, such as the development of the information society, the protection and improvement of the environment and the advancement in equality between men and women in the field of employment.

Clustering – Clusters are defined as geographic concentration of interconnected businesses, suppliers, and associated institutions in a particular field, may affect business in the following ways:

  • by increasing the productivity of the companies in the cluster,
  • by driving innovation in the field
  • by stimulating new businesses in the field,

By facilitating the development of geographical and sector specific clusters through European funded projects, ENIA can assist in spurring innovation, creating new business and new jobs in the region.

Regional Development – We believe that regional development is the cornerstone for the future of the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean region can realise its full potential only with the involvement of countries from both sides of the region, involving European and non-European countries.  ENIA maintains ties with companies and organisations on both sides of the region and always considers the regional aspect of all projects involved.

Sustainable Development – ENIA shares the view of the Brundtland Commission and the concept and principles of Sustainable Development.  Our ideas and projects are based on development which "meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs".

Innovation – ENIA will support the ‘Europe in action!’ manifesto, where innovation, clusters and entrepreneurship are the key topics. A major concern is ensuring the transition of the European economy to a green economy and at the same time creating an economy that will be competitive globally and will adapt to the challenges and opportunities facing European economies.  If properly implemented innovation can contribute to competitiveness, sustainability and job creation.

Europe 2020, A strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth – ENIA fully embraces the vision for Europe's social market economy for the 21st century as defined in the communication by the European Commission.
The three mutually reinforcing priorities defined by the EC will be taken into consideration in all future projects:

  1. Smart growth: developing an economy based on knowledge and innovation.
  2. Sustainable growth: promoting a more resource efficient, greener and more competitive economy.
  3. Inclusive growth: fostering a high-employment economy delivering social and territorial cohesion.

Energy: Energy and the protection of the environment is a particularly important field for Europe.  ENIA aims to initiate and participate in projects incorporating the EU energy policy which focuses on creating a competitive internal energy market at low prices, developing renewable energy sources, reducing the dependence on imported fuels, and on promoting a lower consumption of energy.
Due to our geographical position we particularly focus on initiating renewable energy projects in solar and wind power, following the EU directive on promoting renewable energies, which sets individual targets for each member state according to which 20% of the EU energy needs must be sourced from renewables, including biomass, hydro, wind and solar power, by 2020.
